APPROPRIATE ATTIRE - SCHOOLS WITH UNIFORMS - 2010-2011
 

Appropriate attire for students in schools

 

Students are to dress in clothes that promote a safe and respectful learning environment. Clothes that create a disruptive environment or cause a health or safety hazard are not appropriate and not acceptable at school. School personnel will enforce this dress code.


Headwear

Only for health, safety, or religious reasons


Shoes

No bare feet


Clothing

Cannot show profanity, obscenity,
violence, or symbols of hate

Cannot promote alcohol, tobacco, or drugs

Cannot promote gang colors or gang-related signs

Cannot show underwear

Cannot show bare skin between upper chest and mid thigh


Examples of inappropriate dress:


baseball caps midriffs pajama bottoms

tank tops tobacco or alcohol brand T-shirts
