On November 18, 2005, Congress allowed Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) recommendations submitted by President George W. Bush to become law. Those recommendations are ultimately expected to bring more than 45,000 jobs, both military and civilian, to four Maryland military installations (Aberdeen Proving Ground, Fort George G. Meade, National Naval Medical Center, and Andrews Air Force Base).
Anne Arundel County Public Schools (AACPS) has been heavily involved in ensuring that space exists to educate the children of military personnel moving to Anne Arundel County. This page provides information regarding the work done by AACPS as well as links to information on Anne Arundel County's efforts.
