Thank you for visiting our website.   We are excited about the culture, climate, behaviors and beliefs that have been established at Van Bokkelen Elementary School.   Our entire staff is committed to educating every scholar who walks thru our doors such that they are equipped and prepared to compete with any student in the 21st century.   We have a proven track record of success.  In the last 7 years, we have moved from being at a meager 38% for proficient/advanced in Reading to 80.1% in 2009, and from 34.4% for proficient/advanced in Math to 80.9%.   We continue to use our financial and human resources wisely to remain data driven, manage by fact and results oriented.  We have the "Platinum/Gold" Exemplary Positive Behaviors Interventions & Strategies (PBIS) Award for 2007/08 and 2008/09.  Currently, we have exceeded our first quarter goals for office referrals, suspensions and our 2009/10 benchmark milestones.   Our 2011/12 goals are set and we are working hard to meet or exceed our counties average on the MSA scores.   Thank you parents, business partners, churches, volunteers and ALL who continue to assist us with educating the "whole" child.   Together, we will continue to rise to the top and remain one of Anne Arundel County Public Schools finest.   Sincerely,   Leonard P.
