Albert Adams and Mary E. Moss Academies provide
alternative educational settings to address academic,
behavioral, and emotional concerns that interfere with
student achievement. The goal is to transition
students’ return to the comprehensive schools. Pupil
Personnel Workers provide a vital link among the school,
home and community. They conduct intake and transition
conferences with alternative school students. Also,
they assist
students with development and refinement of
academic and behavior management skills. Home visits
improve school attendance and communication. In
addition, they refer continuing attendance concerns to
the States Attorney’s Office, Project Attend and
District Court.
