Dear Families of MES      Welcome back to school!  My goodness did the summer vacation fly by this year.  Our 2009-2010 school year promises to be filled with many exciting events for our students and families.  As many of you know, last year we lost 3 positions here at Millersville.  However, with a week left before students arrived we were granted one of our 1st grade positions back!  So, this year we have 3 Kdg classes, 3 First grade classes, 2 Second grade classes, 3 Third grade classes, 2 Fourth grade classes and 3 Fifth grade classes.  We also added a 4th Autism class.  We have a few new faces that have been added to the “Millersville Family” – so when you have a chance, please stop by and introduce yourself.  Those new faces are:   Katie Kimble – Strings teacher Megan Brumfield – 5th grade teacher Steve Connor – Behavior Support T.A. for the Autism Cluster.   You may have also noticed three other new names – but no need to worry – these are their married names.  Ms. Finnerty is now Mrs. Abell; Ms. Taylor is now Mrs. Cooper and Ms. Casano is now Mrs. Hammond!!!!!!!   Please make sure you have added September 3rd to your calendar – it’s “Back to School Night.”  Everything begins at 6:45.  This is an excellent time to visit the classrooms and hear about all the exciting happenings at MES.   Hopefully by now, everyone has seen our new online Blackboard Community – If you haven’t – this is where you will find specifics on each grade level, as well as the parent calendar (updated for the entire year).  A flyer was sent home on the first day of school.  If you’ve misplaced it – no need to worry, we have attached it to our Aug/Sept. newsletter.   As always, if I can be of any assistance, please feel free to contact me at 410-222-3800 or by email at tbrendle@aacps.org.   Thank you and have a Superb September!   Tammy L.
