October 2011    Greetings!        November is an important month. Students' first report cards will be distributed on Friday, November 11. Parent/Teacher Conferences are scheduled for Monday, November 21 from 8AM to 7PM and on Tuesday, November 22 from 8AM to 12 PM.        Parent/Teacher Conferences provide an excellent opportunity to hear about your child's classroom performance, learn about their strengths and challenges and review ways in which you can support learning at home. It is very important that parents participate in these conferences. If you are unable to attend your scheduled conference time, please contact your child's teacher to reschedule for a mutually convenient time. Our goal is 100% participation.        While attending conferences, please take a few moments to complete the parent survey that was developed by our School Improvment Team. Your feedback is very important to us.        The PTA has sponsored The Chestnut Hill Fundraiser. Their goal is to have every student sell three candles. Please consider supporting the PTA by making a purchase. All money raised goes right back to the children in the form of field trips, assemblies and special events. The Scholastic Book Fair will run in the science lab during the week of November 7-11. Students will be able to preview the book fair on Monday, November 7 and will be able to make purchases during school hours on November 8 and 9.
