Positive Behavior Interventions & Supports

The PBIS Formula 4 Success:

RESPECT
RESPONSIBILITY
READY to LEARN
RE-THINKING

Marley Middle School's student management system is based on prevention and interventions that address student behaviors with support from a variety of sources.  There is a high degree of emphasis on the positive.  Individual teachers and interdisciplinary teams encourage and reward positive behavior.

PBIS is one of the components of our system. PBIS has its own structures of positive rewards on a daily, monthly and quarterly basis.  Rewards are obtained by students using "Buckaroos"; coupons earned for good behavior.

Daily rewards:  Each morning at the buckaroo cart, coupons may be exchanged for a variety of items including mechanical pencils, jewelry and more.

Monthly rewards:  From karaoke dances to movies to pizza parties, rewards are offered after school on Thursdays when activity buses are available.

Quarterly rewards:  Students earning Honor Roll or perfect attendance each marking period are invited to attend a PBIS monthly incentive.

All faculty and staff are encouraged to reward students for good behavior and also to reward students who have improved in their behavior.
