Students are encouraged to use our Media Center, not only for reference and informational needs, but also for personal enjoyment and enrichment. The library media program provides services to students and staff, varied print and non print resources, and an instructional program to both compliment and support the educational goals of Anne Arundel County Public Schools.

Media Center Programs to Encourage Reading:
Book Talks Media Specialist will visit classrooms to give motivational introductions to books in our media center encouraging student voluntary reading.
Audio - Book Cafe Students are invited to eat their lunch in the Media Center as they listen to a book on tape.
Book Fair The Media Center will offer students and parents a chance to purchase books, CD's, computer software, and posters for leisure reading and personal enjoyment. Profits from this event are used to enhance the resources and services of the Media Center, as well as to provide positive behavior incentives for our students. This year's Book Fair will run October 20, 24, 25, 26, 27, & 28.
After-School Research Students are invited to use the Media Center resources after school on Wednesdays. They are asked to sign up on Tuesday to assure coverage for their visit.
Circulation Policy Students may check out one book for a period of 2 weeks for the first marking period. Beginning the 2nd quarter, if no overdues are outstanding, students may then check out 2 books. Overdue notices are distributed monthly to students in their Language Arts classes. No fees are charged for overdue materials but students are expected to return books on time and to pay for media materials which are lost or damaged while checked out under their name.
Parent Resource Center A collection of books, videocassettes, and pamphlets of special interest to parents is available in the Media Center to check out for 2 weeks. Resources cover topics ranging from parenting skills to adoption, and from understanding learning disabilities to communication skills.
Volunteers
Parents, guardians, and grandparents are encouraged to volunteer as a media aide. Duties are tailored to your interests and times are flexible. Come join us in the Media Center!
