Welcome to Marley Elementary ! Marley Elementary serves a vibrant, linguistically and culturally diverse community in Glen Burnie, MD.
Marley Elementary students are smart and enthusiastic learners. In relationship with our parents and community, we support, challenge and prepare our students as they progress in their educational journey. It is our expectation that when our students leave Marley they are prepared to be successful in middle school, to complete high school requirements, and to be eligible to attend the college of their choice. In addition, we prepare our students to be lifelong learners and knowledgeable, respectful and responsible members of their community.
Parent engagement: Our parents are active at Marley and our PTA holds many functions and fundraisers throughout the year. The proceeds contribute to the many supplementary programs at Marley Elementary including a support with classroom field trips, staff luncheons, and PTA family events.
Technology: Technology is a priority at Marley Elementary! Every classroom is equipped with an LCD projector, document camera and “streaming” to bring the world into the classrooms. We also utlize Smarboards, Senteos, and Airliners in our classrooms. In addition, there is a computer lab and science lab which students access multiple times each week.
Meeting all student needs: We have fulltime “intervention” teachers to provide additional help for those students who are one or more grade levels behind their peers. We have a fulltime reading and math resource teachers, two ESOL teachers, speech teacher and counselor to provide services for selected students such as those students with special needs. Our learners are provided with activities of greater depth and complexity using the Advanced Learners Program (ALPS).
