Dear Families,

Welcome to the new school year!  It is exciting to welcome our students back to school, to see some familiar faces and to extend a special welcome to new families to the Cromwell community.

This year we welcome new fifth grade teachers, Mrs. April Pierman and Mrs. Rachel Andes.  We are also happy to introduce  our new Reading Teacher, Mrs. Michele Agnes, Special Educator, Mrs. Elaine Cherneski, and Physical Education teacher, Mr. David Maka.  Finally, a warm welcome to  Mrs. Lorraine Christ as our newest temporary student assistant.

Our Back to School Night is scheduled for Thursday, September  8 at 6:30.  This is an opportunity to meet your child’s teacher, visit the classroom and hear about curriculum, rules, routines and daily procedures.  We will begin with a brief introduction of the staff and a message from the PTA .  Parents will then be invited to visit the classrooms.  Parents with more than one child will have the opportunity to visit another classroom during the second session.  Each session will last approximately 20 minutes.

Our PTA officers will provide you with information about how to join, and ways to support our school.  There will be samples of Joe Corbi’s Pizza  to kick off our first fundraiser.

For our newest families, for the afternoon dismissal, please form two lines as you enter the parking lot.  For the safety of our children, please wait for the staff members to direct your children to your vehicle.  Upon leaving the parking lot, you will be directed to make a right, drive through the bus loop, and then out to Wellham.  The safety of our students is our number one priority.  We appreciate your help!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Mary Beth Gormley
