Principal's Newsletter

Dear Parents,

As we approach the 4th marking period of a fast paced school year, I’d like to once again thank you, our students, and staff for everyone’s hard work and continued focus.  We recently celebrated and recognized 600 GBHS students at our latest Honor Roll Assembly including well over 100 Principal and Superintendent Honor Roll recipients.  In addition, GBHS has received recognition from the Maryland State Department of Education for outstanding performance on the 2007 MSAs.  We were commended for dedication to student achievement and for inspiring students to attain higher levels of performance.  It was stated, “Your accomplishment serves as a model for others as we work together to ensure success for all of Maryland’s students.”.  Along with this distinction, GBHS was presented with a Certificate of Recognition as an Advanced Placement Accomplished School as selected by the College Board.  Glen Burnie High School’s AVID Program is Nationally Certified.  On April 30, 2008 we will host the AACPS AVID Conference, a very prestigious honor and event.
