Philosophy:

Throughout the whole guidance program is the conviction that each student has a unique constellation of interests, needs, abilities, and aptitudes as well as the capacity for a certain degree of growth.

Guidance services are an integral part of the educational process. Systematic guidance programs are provided to support instruction. These programs assist students, parents, and professional staff in understanding the individual needs, interests, and abilities of our students. These programs are provided to assist each student to develop to his or her full potential. Opportunities are provided, for example, for students to learn ways to improve decision-making, study skills, interpersonal relations, and planning for the future.

Guided by the principle that each individual should have the opportunity to develop talents to the maximum, the guidance program accordingly includes individual and group experiences which are designed to aid each student in knowing self as an individual and as a member to society.

Because of its vital relation to every facet of the school and the community, the guidance program must have the wholehearted support and cooperation of all concerned with the youth of our society to function at its maximum effectiveness.

Objectives

To help each student make the best possible adjustment to home, school, and the community environment.
To help each individual become a self-directed person capable of making sound decisions in all aspects of living in a democratic society.
