Civic Minded? Join our SGA and become a leader!
The Student Government Association (SGA) meets a minimum of every two weeks after school and during Tap. In school meetings dealing with special topics and themes are scheduled to be held throughout the school year. The major objectives of the SGA are to promote harmonious relationships throughout the school, develop attitudes and practice in good citizenship, improve school morale, assist in the management of the school, provide a forum for student expression, defend student rights, assist in representing the school in the community, and assist extra-curricular organizations in coordinating activities. SGA plans and coordinates Homecoming (Spirit Week, Pep Assembly, halftime, and the dance) holds the annual fall and spring blood drive, attends monthly meetings for SGA on the county level, CRASC, attends the state student government convention (MASC), and works with other school organizations. Students may join SGA by attending meetings or be elected each semester as a representative of their Tap class.
