Dance Company & Ensemble
Advisor - Ms. Rosso
Starting next year dance classes will count for the 2nd P.E. credit. Fitness for Life is required for graduation and dance may count as the 2nd credit for completion. All dance classes at GBHS next year can be taken for either a Fine Arts, P.E., or elective credit!
The GBHS Dance Company is made up of highly skilled dancers who have a strong ballet and lyrical background. Company members work one day per week in the dance studio with an award winning, national choreographer on dances that are performed in State and County Dance Festivals, along with our own Evening of Dance! Dance Company has auditions yearly. Interested students must see Ms. Rosso.
Ms. Rosso has been director of the Glen Burnie High School Dance Program for the past 35 years. What started as a few dance classes has expanded into a full daily program, plus a Dance Program. Ms. Rosso holds the title of Outstanding Arts Educator from the Maryland Alliance for Arts Education, Maryland Dance Teacher of the Year, Eastern District and National Finalist from the National Dance Association. She also received the Anne Arundel County Public Schools Spirit of Excellence Award, WBAL-TV Class Act Award and 2003 Finalist for Anne Arundel County Teacher of the Year.

Dance Ensemble was selected to perform at the Kennedy Center in Washington D. C. Educator's Forum.
Some of the students from Ms. Rosso's Dane Program have gone on to become high school dance teachers.
