Dear Freetown Parents,
I hope that your Thanksgiving was filled with much joy. It is hard to believe that we are approaching the Holiday Season! Where does the time go?!?
With the new structure of the CAC in our county, we have decided to blend our PTA and CAC at Freetown. We are very excited about all of the wonderful things that our families are able to participate in as a result of the PTA. We hope that you will be able to participate in the Santa’s Secret Shop and the movie night on December 16th. More information will be sent home as we get closer to this event.
I also want to thank the parents, grandparents, and guardians for coming out for the Open House during American Education Week. I hope that you enjoyed the time you spent with your child during the school day.
As a school, we have become a “Kids at Hope” school. In addition to the pledge that the students and staff members take every morning, your children will begin learning about the 4 ACES that are necessary in life to help create success. Our teachers talk to the students about the importance of getting a good education and going to college after high school. They are also looking for the “treasures” that each child possesses and helping them cultivate the gifts they have been given. The 4 ACES are:
ACE of Hearts – Anchor/Parent who cares for the child and is responsible for the physical and emotional well being 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
ACE of Clubs – Other caring adults who are there for the child to help them at the different parts of the day when they need someone to talk to.
ACE of Spades – High Expectations for the child. Letting them know that the sky is the limit! Children need to believe that they will be successful.
ACE of Diamonds – Opportunities to Succeed for ALL students. Like the four sides of the diamond, there are four ways to help a child succeed… belonging to something positive, feeling useful, feeling competent, and feeling empowered.
We can help give your children the last 3 clubs, but you play an important role in their lives every day. Only you can give them the ACE of Hearts. We hope that together we will create an environment that will produce successful students who will grow up to be successful adults! ALL CHILDREN ARE CAPABLE OF SUCCESS, NO EXCEPTIONS!!
We are thankful for the partnership that we have with you as we work to educate your children and help them meet with success in life!
I hope that you and your family enjoy the Holiday Season and are able to find time to relax and enjoy life! See you in the New Year, 2012!!!!
Fondly,
Jeffery S. Haynie
