History:
The fourth season for C Company is coming to a close. We had another successful year, winning the engineering design award at the Chesapeake Regional and winning the D.C. Regional competition. This qualified us to attend the championship event, which will be held in St. Louis this year.
Fall Events:
The fall phase of the Chesapeake High School Robotics Team occurs from September to mid December. During this fall phase the members work on teambuilding, training and associated off season activities. This is the time period when your dedication, grades and team performance in monitored very closely to make sure the are up to the standards of the team. Close attention is paid to attendance to mandatory and voluntary events such as fund raisers and workshops. Training workshops will take place during this time. This probationary period is also a time for a student to experience team activities and determine if this activity is for them.
Competition Team:
Students who successfully complete the fall phase will be placed on the official team after the interview. Placement on the official team will be effective untill the end of the school year unless situations arise that would put a team member's status in jeopardy.
It is during this period that the team leadership will evaluate the abilities of members for placement in the positions as drivers, pit crew, etc. Positions are subject to change according to the needs of the team and performance of the members.
All team members must reapply to the team each year. Placement on the team is not an automatic because of experience.
