Nursing Assistant
An opportunity to learn to collect vital signs and other basic care
giving techniques to patients and Geriatric clients in long term care
and assistant living.
This is a one semester course for 11th or 12th grade students. Graduates
may receive a State of Maryland Nursing Assistant certificate and are
eligible to sit for the Geriatric Nursing Assistant certification.
Career opportunities are found in health maintenance
organizations, extended care facilities, home health care, hospitals and
the military. A senior year
Cooperative Work Experience Program
is available, which can lead to an Apprenticeship program.
