Drafting/CAD
Drafting is the graphic language used by industry to communicate ideas and plans from the creative design stage, through production, to service and use. Basic drafting encompasses orthographic projection, dimensioning, section views, and other related mechanical drawings. Advanced drafting includes floor plans, elevations, perspectives, and other related residential design drawings. The implementation of Cad explores the application of Computer Aided Drafting, and design methods through hands on activities. Autocad 2000 will be used to produce mechanical and Architectural drawings, in basic and advanced levels. Career opportunities include drafter, engineering technician, mechanical engineer, industrial designer, teacher, architect, and construction superintendent.
