Cosmetology

 

Cosmetology is a career that provides an opportunity to learn hair shaping, manicuring, artificial nail techniques, hair styling, facial massage, make-up, hair coloring and business management. Students are given an opportunity to work on outside clients as well as a work study program in a salon setting. Graduates of this 1500 hour program are required to sit for a state exam. Job opportunities include hair colorist, wig tech, or skin care specialist. Job opportunities are also available in salon management, TV, movies, and theater. This career is also one that is continually changing; therefore, your education never stops.
