Dear Cape St. Claire Families and Friends,
It is with mixed emotions that I write to inform you that effective June 25th I will be leaving Cape St. Claire Elementary and moving into the position of Director of School Improvement for Anne Arundel County Public Schools. I am sad to leave a place that has quickly become like home, but I am excited about this new opportunity in my career.
Earlier today, the Board of Education approved my appointment to the new position as well as Interim Superintendent Mamie Perkinsí recommendation that Janet Lancaster become the new acting principal of Cape St. Claire Elementary. Mrs. Lancaster has spent 25 years as an educator in Anne Arundel County, the last two of which have been as assistant principal at CSCES. I can think of no one better to carry on the tradition of excellence. Mrs. Lancaster knows the school and community well and is dedicated to making it a safe place where students thrive and excel.
I am grateful to have had the opportunity to serve your children, our staff and a community that has been so welcoming. I have enjoyed my time here, albeit short, and will take away many positive memories. I look forward to hearing great things about Cape St. Claire Elementary and its students in the coming years.
Thank you for your continued support. I wish you all the best!
