SAFETY LINKS

Ready.gov from the Department of  Homeland Security - Things you can do to prepare for the unexpected, such as assembling a supply kit and developing a family communications plan which are the same for both a natural or man-made emergency.

Red Cross Homeland Security Advisory System Recommendations - The American Red Cross's complementary (to the federal) set of guidelines.

FEMA FOR KIDS - A resource for students, parents & teachers. This site teaches you how to be prepared for disasters and how you can prevent disaster damage. You can also learn what causes disasters, play games, read stories and become a Disaster Action Kid.

  • 98% of students, parents, and faculty responding to an annual climate survey will indicate that they feel safe at school and believe students are well-behaved.

Staff - Bring all students to classrooms

Staff - Assess situation; evacuate, move to 
safe area, remain in place

Students - Follow teacher's instructions to leave building
