Grade Three Social Studies Program In Grade 3 Social Studies, students investigate the important concepts from the disciplines of Social Studies: Geography, Economics, Civics, and History. Students learn about their own communities by investigating the geography, economics and goverment of Anne Arundel County. Students are introduced to the concept of culture and compare Native American cultures from different regions of North America. Students continue to practice the skills of Social Studies: sequencing events, analyzing cause and effect, analyzing perspective, reading and writing independently. They complete short writing assignments, and will read and construct maps, charts, tables and graphs. The units studied are:
