Conducted on a college level, AP English Literature and Composition intergrates critical reading and writing to enable students to understand, explain, and evaluate literary works. Students read works of literary merit representative of the sixteenth through the twentieth centuries that include novels, plays, poetry, essays, and short stories. Major authors examined include Bronte, Sophocles, and Shakespeare.
