Essential Understanding
The climate of a region effects the way people live, work, and play.

MLO: 2.4 Students will describe the weather using observations, age appropriate tools (i.e., thermometers) and measurements.
 

Student Outcome: Students will learn to identify trends and patterns in weather as they observe, record and report on the daily weather in their environment.
Indicator:  Weather interacts with local features of the Earth and changes them over time.
 

Technology Indicators: 4.2 Design, develop, publish, and present products using technology resources that demonstrate and communicate curriculum concepts to audiences inside and outside the classroom.5.3 Employ technology tools to locate, evaluate and collect information from a variety of sources.

Task 2
Daily Report
You and your partner will observe, illustrate and report on our daily weather.
 

1.out your window and observe the weather.

2.  Identify what the weather is like today.
3.  In your journal write or illustrate your current weather conditions.
4.  Predict the weather forecast for tomorrow in your journal.
5. You will use KidPix to report on today's weather.

6.  Share your KidPix picture with your classmates.

Task 3
Trip
Now that you know what the weather is like today, lets take a trip with your partner to investigate the weather conditions and forecasts in other parts of the  world.
 
  1. Decide with your partner where you would like to travel.
  2. Preview the weather forecast or the map below to decide where you will take your trip.
  3. at the information given to you about each location.
  4. Write in your journal the place you would like to take your trip.
  5. Next, think about what type of clothing you will need to pack for your trip. In your journal write or illustrate the kinds of clothes you will need to take with you on your trip
