Konrad Wayson
Appointed to the Board in
May of 2002, Konrad M. Wayson graduated from Southern High School in 1979 and
then from Salisbury University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in
Business Administration.
In 1999, County Executive
Janet Owens appointed Mr. Wayson to the Anne Arundel Economic Development
Corporation where he served as Board Chairman until 2001.
Mr. Wayson is affiliated
with the Chesapeake Chapter of Associated Builders & Contractors. He served on
the Board of Directors from 1986 to 2000, during which time he was a National
Board Member, Chapter President, and Chairman of the Joint Legislative Committee
representing more than 1,000 contractors statewide. Mr. Wayson has been the
Secretary/Treasurer for Hopkins & Wayson, Inc. since 1984. Formerly the
President of Childs Landscaping Contractors, Inc., he now serves as the
company’s Chairman of the Board.
Born in Annapolis, Mr.
Wayson is a life-long resident of Anne Arundel County and resides in Edgewater. Graduates of Southern High School, his
son, Robert, is a freshman at the University of West Virginia and his older son,
Justin, is a junior at East Carolina University. Mr. Wayson is a member of St.
James Episcopal Church.
