Andrew Pruski, Vice President
Andrew Pruski was appointed to Anne Arundel County Board of Education in August
2009 to fill the final four years of the term of Tricia Johnson, who resigned
when she was appointed to the County Council.
Mr. Pruski is a former high school Social Studies teacher and currently serves
as the Supervisor of Assessment in the Department of Research, Accountability
and Assessment for Baltimore County Public Schools. In that capacity, he is
responsible for the oversight and management of the Maryland state-mandated
assessment program in Baltimore County.
Prior to his current position, Mr. Pruski was employed with the United States
Department of Education in the Office of Elementary and Secondary Education. He
has teaching experience in private, public, and charter schools.
Mr. Pruski is active in numerous professional and community organizations. He
serves on the National Council for
Accreditation of Teacher Education’s blue-ribbon panel studying teacher
preparation, is
president of the Four Seasons Community Association, and is a
member of the West County Community Leaders Roundtable. In addition, he holds
membership in the Baltimore County Council of Administrative and Supervisory
Employees, the Anne Arundel High School PTSO, the Four Seasons Elementary PTA,
the Greater Odenton Improvement Association, and the West Arundel Lions Club,
among others.
Mr. Pruski received his bachelor of arts degree in History from Niagara
University in May 2000, and his master of science degree in Secondary Education
from Niagara University in 2001. He has received a certification in Maryland
Administration and Maryland Advance Professional Teaching. He and his wife
Roxanne, an Assistant Principal at Broadneck High School, live in Gambrills. They have a son, Jacob, and a
daughter, Clara, who will be attending Four Seasons Elementary School.
