Stacy Korbelak
Stacy Korbelak
was appointed to a five-year term representing District 21 on the Board of
Education of Anne Arundel County in July 2012.
Mrs. Korbelak
holds a bachelor’s degree in Organizational Behavior from the University of
Michigan and a master’s degree in Administration from the Johns Hopkins
University. She is currently an Assistant Professor of English composition and
literature at Howard Community College in Columbia, and coordinator of the
college’s Global Distinction program. Prior to joining HCC, she spent more than
15 years in human resources and employee/labor relations with both the federal
government and private sector.
Stacy and her
husband, Matthew, have been residents of the Piney Orchard community in Odenton
since 1996. She is an active volunteer in the schools her children attend, and
has served as vice president of PTA at Piney Orchard Elementary School,
and president of PTA at Arundel Middle School. She currently is a member of the
Integrated Community Stakeholders Team at Arundel High School, and also serves
on the Regional Executive Council of the Two Year College English Association (TYCA)
for the Northeast Region.
Her eldest
sons, Nikolas and Benjamin, are graduates of the Annapolis High School
International Baccalaureate program. Her son, Joshua, and daughter, Katerina,
are currently students at Arundel High School.
