Kevin Jackson
An Edgewater resident,
Kevin Lee Jackson was appointed to a five-year term
on the Board of Education of Anne Arundel County in July 2009.
Mr. Jackson was born in Jackson, Tenn., and educated
in the public school system. Upon graduation from high school in 1995, Mr.
Jackson was offered and accepted an appointment to the United States Naval
Academy. After his graduation in 1999, he was transferred to Newport, R.I., for
six months of training in preparation for his initial tours of duty at sea.
During Mr. Jackson’s sea duty,
he served in USS ARTHUR W. RADFORD as the Electrical Officer and Damage
Control Assistant and in USS VELLA GULF as the Fire Control Officer
homeported in Norfolk, Va. He had the fortunate experience of traveling to
Europe, Africa, and the Middle East during his sea tours before transferring to
his first shore duty station in Washington, D.C.
At Mr. Jackson’s last active
duty station, he served as a Flag Lieutenant for Commandant, Naval District
Washington, who commanded all Navy installations within a 100-mile radius of the
Pentagon. Mr. Jackson transferred to the Navy Reserve and now is a Lieutenant
Commander supporting the Office of the Chief of Naval Operations.
Mr. Jackson currently serves as
the Midshipmen/College Age Ministry Leader for the Annapolis Church of Christ in
Arnold, where he works to provide spiritual enrichment to the leaders of
tomorrow. He entered federal service in March of 2009 and is currently employed
by Naval Sea Systems Command in Washington, D.C.
He is married to Monique Holt
Jackson, a lifelong resident of Anne Arundel County.
Mr. and Mrs. Jackson have one son and one daughter.
