The No Child Left Behind Act of 2001
provides benefits to students, teachers and other
education personnel, including those in non-public
schools. NCLB requires the equitable
participation of private school students, teachers
and other education personnel in some of its major
programs.
It is the responsibility of local school districts
to engage in “timely and meaningful” consultation
with appropriate non-public school representatives
in order to administer benefits through programs
funded through NCLB. This requirement includes
projects that are funded directly from the federal
government, as well as projects from Maryland
State agencies that distribute NCLB funding (such
as Title II and the 21st Century
Community Learning Centers).
The following information is intended to assist
non-public schools in Anne Arundel County, as they
collaborate with AACPS to access funds for which
they are eligible. |
