Lois
Kleinhenn Lanier has a B.A. from Anderson University
with majors in English and Russian Studies and a minor in
Education; an
M.A. from Columbia University
in Languages and Literature; and a graduate certificate
from the University of Maryland in Business Administration.
She has spent over thirty years in education, working
both internationally and in the U.S.
Prior to coming to AACPS, she was Assistant
Director/Development for the Maryland English Institute at the
University of Maryland, College Park, where she was on the
faculty for 17 years. She
has worked in China, Japan, Malaysia, and Russia.
As part of a U.S.I.A. project, she led a bi-national team which
wrote and published an English language textbook that
ultimately was approved by the Russian Ministry of Education
for use in university programs.
Outside
of her professional life, she is married, with a teenage son,
and finds her role as baseball mom continually intriguing.
She is an avid genealogist and manages several family
history Internet discussion lists.
In collaboration with an Internet-based team, she has just completed work on two volumes of the
Lanier family history. Her
current interest is in tracing her maternal ancestor lines. |
