Besides being fun, games encourage creative thinking
Some traditional favorites:

  • Monopoly
  • Scrabble
  • Pictionary
  • Balderdash

While eating dinner, make up your own family games.  For example, play the "what if" game.  What if you crossed a hippopotamous with an alligator?  What would you have?  Why a "hippogator" of course!

On family trips, create stories together, each person adding several lines.
