Voyager

In your classroom turned rocket ship, space station and celestial body
you will thunder into the sky from Cape Canaveral through fire and billowing
plumes of white smoke for a trip to the International Space Station in
low Earth orbit. Perform experiments based in mathematics that investigate
the marvel of weightlessness and other topics before traveling to the moon.
Establish a lunar base and esplore the moon's craters and surface before
returning to Earth. This class is offered in collaboration with Smithsonian,
NASA and Voyager.
Technology and Communications

Desktops, Technology and Publishing: Create an original publication
with others using your own short stories, reports, poems and pictures.
Using a computer learn how to insert graphics, change fonts, and create
headlines and columns to design a publication fit for the 21st century..

Story Writing: Explore the world of words, bringing life characters,
places, and situations you create from your imagination. Discuss
forms of creative writing including short stories, plays, poetry, and essays.
Develope desktop publishing skills as you create your own literary magazine
on the computer.
Enviroment

Life in the Marsh: Wade through an on-site study of the freshwater marsh
ecosystem. Learn to identify marsh plants and animals. Discuss
marsh food webs, hydrology, geography, and man's impact on marshes.
Special Topics

Mathematics, Logic and Problem Solving: Math unravels knotty problems,
fun puzzles and exciting mysteries stories. Develop your mathematics,
reasoning and logic skills and solve all sorts of problems. Select
from a menu of guess and test, sequences, patterns, elimination,
and models. Play number and puzzle games.
