SOFTWARE PROBLEMS

Toolbar Disappears (Software Specific)

• Then click on Toolbar

• Then click on Show Button Bar
• The toolbar can be modified by a student (be aware)

 Netscape does not begin:

•  Log as Sysop and check the following:
• Right Click on Network Neighborhood
• Click on Properties
• Double Click on TCP/IP
• Make sure the IP address is correct for that machine
• Click on the Gateway Tab; make sure the correct gateway is installed ex. 10.1.25.1 (refer to page 10 of the ASAP Lab Installation Packet)
• Check your router, see if the power lights are on
• Check for red and yellow alarm light, if they are on
• Down the server, hub and the router. Wait 2 minutes turn the hub, router, and server back on.

Netscape looks strange: (student may have altered)

• Click on word Options at the top
• Then click on option that is not checked

  Missing Mouse Cursor

• If the mouse cursor is missing try the following:
• Make sure the mouse is securely plugged in the back of the computer

 Unable to close Windows:

 Windows3.x

• Be sure that all DOS based applications are closed
• Need to have the disk that loaded the program place back in computer
• Click on the DOS icon that is running in background
• Click on restore
• Exit properly
• Try to close windows
•  If no disk available:
• Click on the MS DOS Icon
• Click on settings
• Click on terminate applications
• Then Click OK
