AACPS Technology Office

Staff Development Models

The Office of Instructional Technology offers staff development opportunities for integrating computer technology into instruction. A variety of models are available to best meet the needs of AACPS faculty. Possible models are outline in the following table:

  1. Course Planning
  • 1/2 day planning sessions with key staff members with roving substitutes paid by Office of Instructional Technology OR
  • After school planning sessions with stipend paid by Office of Instructional Technology
  1. After School Workshop
  • School-based or with neighboring schools
  • 6 people minimum
  • 2-hour workshop on a single topic
  • Stipend for participants paid by Office of Instructional Technology
  1. Peer Observation/
    Demonstration Teaching
  • Resource teacher or peer expert demo combined with after school planning session
  • Substitute for participating teachers and stipends for after school planning sessions paid by Office of Instructional Technology
  1. MSDE Workshop (These classes are listed in the Staff Development Booklet)
  • School-based, 10 people minimum
  • 3 hour after school sessions, 15 hours total = 1 credit; 30 hours total = 2 credits
  • T3 pays instructor
  • Teachers received MSDE credit
  1. Department/Subject Plan for Integration of Technology
  • School-based by Subject Team or Department
  • Develop computer activities appropriate for curriculum
  • Multi-session, after school
  • Stipends for participants paid by Office of Instructional Technology
  • T3 pays instructor(s), participants receives CEU's

 

  1. Course-Based June Technology Institutes (funds pending, 2-3 days)
  • Course and software determined by curriculum coordinators
  • Instruction on course appropriate software
  • Develop computer activities for course
  • Stipends for participants paid by Office of Instructional Technology
  • T3 pays instructor(s), participants receive CEU's
