AMDOCS: Documents for the Study of American History 9-12  Great source of United States history, primary source documents for use in the classroom, as well as for teacher use in writing high school assessment style items.
American Factfinder at the US Census Bureau 9-12 This is an interactive way for students to access the vast resources at the Census Bureau. Students can find up to date statistical information on a wide variety of topics. Great for Unites States Government and Career Connections!
Archiving Early America 5-12 Primary source documents, reproductions and "translations" of issues of the Early America Review, maps, portraits, some items user must pay for image, moderated forum for discussion of issues.
Deep in the Bush, Where People Rarely Ever Go, home page 6-8 The stories used in this lesson were collected by the author while serving as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Liberia, West Africa.  He lived in Zwedru, a town surrounded by the rain forest, or "the bush" as the Liberians called it. These tales have been kid - tested
 and approved around the world with students of all ages. These stories, and any other African tales, work as a great introduction to the wealth of culture and history that Africa has to offer. The site has lesson suggestions for teachers, various links to related sites, educational links, and three liberian stories for students in narrative and play versions. Various cross curriculum activities are included such as Liberian recipes and teacher resources. Excellent multicultural site, appropriate for average grade levels in sixth and seventh grade.
FirstGov 9-12 Government website which provides the public with easy one-stop access to all online US Federal Government resources.
Geographic Learning Site K-12 Created by the US State Department. Find out where diplomats work, what is in the news in geography, and look into a challenging world, with sections designed for K-4, 5-8 and 9-12.You will need the Flash Plug-in for part of the site.
GORP-Africa Resource Listings K-12 Contains on-line resources, books/maps, trips and information on Africa by County.
Grolier Presents the American Presidency 3-12 History of Presidents, the Presidency, politics and related subjects.
Java History Tour K-12 Excellent site for colonial history.
Kenya 4, 7 Good site to gather basic information about Kenya. The home page (Geographia) contains links to destinations around the world.
Kenya's National Park & Reserves K-12 Excellent site for Kenya wildlife, geography, etc.
Kenyaweb-Kenya's Definitive Internet Resource 7 Readability of this site is too high for a fourth grade audience. However, the geography section does contain appropriate maps. This site would be an excellent teacher resource for a forth grade social studies teacher.
Marco Polo Internet Content for the Classroom 6-12 Online resources include panel reviewed links to top sites in many disciplines, professionally developed lesson plans and classroom activities. Marco Polo partner sites cover many core educational disciplines, including Economics, Geography, Humanities, Mathematics, and Science
Maryland Electronic Capital K-12 Provides one-stop access to Maryland government, counties and communities. Noteworthy are "Getting Things Done in Maryland" and "All about Maryland".
Maryland State Archives K-12 K-12 Excellent site for research regarding MD history, primary source documents.
 Mr. Dowling's Electronic Passport 6-8 The Electronic Passport is a collection of lessons created for a variety of world history topics from Prehistory to the present.
Peace Treaty Between the Assateague and Pocomoke Indians and Charles Calvert, Governor or Maryland 1722 4-5 Primary source document for students to use to examine period cultural customs, relationships between government and Native Americans.
Pride of Baltimore 3-12 Excellent informational site about the Pride of Baltimore for teachers and students.
The White House for Kids 3-5 Provides students with a virtual tour and information about the White House both past and present. Information about the President is also available.
