Basic Elements of the Human Skeleton K-12 Human skeleton with labels.
Bug World 5 This site is appropriate for the Grade Five Invertebrate Unit: Insects: Roaches.
Brohm's Electric Zoo K-5 Excellent site for teachers and students looking for pictures of invertebrates and vertebrates.
Eisenhower National Clearinghouse for Mathematics and Science Education 5-12 K-12 mathematics and science curriculum resources on the Internet.
Endangered Habitat Kids Page 4-5 Excellent site for grades four and five. Can be effectively used in the Vertebrate unit in grade four and the Aquatic Biome unit in grade five.
Energy Quest K-12 Excellent resource for teachers to use regarding energy. All other links appropriate for grades k-12. Topics are rated by difficulty.
Fifth Grade Science Links 5 These web resources align with AACPS Grade 5 Science curriculum guides.
Fill the Bill 2, 4 Site with information for environmental activities to use with students. Fill the Bill is part of a site "Creeks, Creatures, and Canopies". Students learn about the beaks of birds. Appropriate for use in grade two and the "Bird" unit in grade four.
I Like Penguins 4-5 Links provide information useful for the grade four unit on Birds and the grade five Aquatic Biome Unit.
In Search of Giant Squid 3-12 This site is appropriate for the Grade Five Invertebrate Unit and Aquatic Biome Unit. This site is also appropriate for any grades studying Marine Animals.
MadSci Network 5-12 Best used as a search engine. If students type in a topic, the responses include other questions relating to the topic and related websites. Visually confusing for younger students.
Marco Polo Internet Content for the Classroom 6-12 Online resources include panel reviewed links to top sites in many disciplines, professionally developed lesson plans and classroom activities. Marco Polo partner sites cover many core educational disciplines, including Economics, Geography, Humanities, Mathematics, and Science.
NASA Home Page K-12 Appropriate resource for teachers grade k-12.
National Air and Space Museum K-12 Appropriate resource for teachers grade K-12. Great preparation site for a field trip.The online exhibits are excellent.
National Geographic World Online K-5 Resource for teachers and students. The Kids Archive contains an index of past online articles.
Rocky the Rockhound 2-5 Excellent informative site about rocks.
Sea World Busch Gardens Animal Resources K-12 Animal Information Database. Excellent teacher resource for grades K-12; great for student research grades 3 - 12.
Sing a Worm Song 2 Site aimed at a primary audience. Worm songs, worm experiments (gummy), and worm facts. Appropriate to use during the invertebrate unit.
Smithsonian Environmental Research Center K-12 Site with information for environmental activities to use with students.
Spiders K-8 Informative site for Spider anatomy, data, scientific investigations involving spiders and drugs. Appropriate for 5th grade invertebrate and drug units.
Tai Chi (Animated Skeleton) K-12 Realistic animated skeleton.
Teaching in The Learning Web at the US Geological Survey K-12 Collection of activities, lesson plans, and publications that deal with the changing world, working with maps, and Earth Hazards. Broken down by grade level.
The Exploratorium K-12 The Museum of Science, Art and Human Perceptions. Appropriate as a teacher and student resource.
The Franklin Institute Science Museum K-12 Site that has information appropriate for all grade levels. Appropriate as teacher resource and for student use.
The pH Factor 5-8 Excellent for chemistry unit in Grade Five.
The Solar System 2-8 Excellent site for students in Grade Four studying space.
Weather 5-12 Excellent site for Grade Five weather unit; also contains great resources on clouds and hurricanes.
Welcome to the Planets K-12 Pictures of planets, spacescraft; appropriate for all.
Westbrook Lobster 4-5 Invertebrates
Worm World 5 This site is appropriate for the Grade Five Invertebrate Unit: Worms.
Zoom Dinosaurs K-8 Very thorough information on dinosaurs. Fairly easy to read.
