A WebQuest for 8th Grade Mathematics Designed by Heather Jones
Introduction | Task | Process | Evaluation | Conclusion | Credits Your group is a part of a sailboat
race committee in charge of running races for the winter frostbite series
in Annapolis, Maryland. There have been growing concerns about
the safety of the racers and race committee due to the weather. Just
think about the weather conditions that the Andrea Gail experienced in
the Perfect Storm.
The Task The Process To accomplish the task, your group of three needs to : 1. Decide on who will be the task manager, keyboarder, and recorder. 2. Learn about the importance of windchill at the windchill cartoon, windchill facts sheet and "What is windchill?". 3. Learn about the Beaufort scale at Stormfax, windwave and Beaufort information. 4. As a group, create
a windchill cart using the windchill calculator
