As of January 2002, AACPS must discontinue donations of old computers, including site pickup of old computers, and all purchases of non-standard computers. This new policy will help the school system migrate to a minimum level of technology capable of supporting the AACPS networking architecture.
The one exception will be that the Division of Career and Technology, where program consideration necessitate the use of stand-alone equipment and variations of self-contained networks, will continue their equipment acquisition program.
