This course emphasizes basic principles for gathering and presenting news.
With the foundation of a news "sense" and good interviewing skills, the
student is introduced to the fundamentals of news writing and types of news
stories suitable for inclusion in high school newspapers. Evaluation of both
metropolitan and scholastic publications helps students to write good news
leads and stories.
