I would like to say THANK YOU to all of the
students, staff and parents for welcoming me to Arundel Middle School.
I look forward to working collaboratively with you as we continue to do
what is best for the students at Arundel Middle School.
I know everyone has
a lot of questions about me, and any changes that may be made at Arundel
Middle. As I make my full transition, over the upcoming weeks I can
assure you that there will be many opportunities for you to get to know
me, as I become familiar with the needs of Arundel Middle School staff,
students, and families. My skills and experiences as a teacher, guidance
counselor, assistant principal, and special assistant, I hope will add
to enhancing the instructional programs, and providing a safe and
orderly school environment for all.
I am
excited to hear about all of the great teaching and learning that has
taken place over the first half of the school year. Teachers will
continue to provide creative, meaningful, and rigorous instruction to
all students as we move forward in the second half of the school year.
Over the next month, students will be thoroughly engaged in practicing
for the Maryland State Assessment (MSA) testing in Reading, Math, and in
Science. Parents please assist us as we prepare for these assessments
by talking to your child about the importance of coming to school each
and everyday ready to learn and focus on teacher instruction. The
faculty and staff are extremely committed to providing a successful
testing experience for each student, that will ultimately produce
proficient scores for all student groups.
On a
side note… as we begin the new semester, please make sure that your
child has all of his/her supplies to be successful. These supplies
include their Agenda Book, notebooks, pens/pencils and any other item
required for a specific class. Also remember to check
schoolnotes.com
for announcements of major test, projects, and team activities.
Thank you,
Shawn
