JROTC- Mr. Fluitt
The goal of Junior ROTC is to motivate young people to be better citizens. To accomplish this goal, it combines classroom instruction and extracurricular activities oriented on attaining an awareness of the rights, responsibilities, and privileges of citizenship. The program also develops personal responsibility, builds life skills, and provides leadership opportunities within the school building and surrounding community.
Library Club-Mrs.Buck
Join the Library Club and share your love of books and reading. Members can plan events, have book discussion groups, recommend books for their peers, learn about how libraries work, and develop their information skills. If you love libraries, this is the club for you!
Math Club- Mrs. Mason Frempong
The math club is designed to build upon and improve students’ problem solving and team building skills. Students will be able to participate in several math competitions throughout the year such as “You Can Do the Rubik’s Cube”, Math Counts, and the “24 Game” math tournaments.
Media Assistant- Mrs. Buck
Student Library Assistants primarily help in the media center set up in the morning and shut down in the afternoon. This group has sponsored a few other activities, such as contests and after-school poetry readings.
Music- Mr. Raab & Mr. Rea
The Concert Band, Stage Band, Orchestra and Chorus all allow student musicians to develop the individual and ensemble skills needed to perform in concerts and county festivals that align with the state curriculum.
National Junior Honor Society- Mrs. Cephas
The National Junior Honor Society is designed specifically for the school’s academic leaders and community-oriented students. Students meet, plan community service events, and participate in other related projects to support the mission of the NJHS.
Newspaper Club- Ms. Lerro
The Newspaper Club teaches students the process of publication writing and layout through mini-lessons and modeling. The goal of the club is to produce a student newspaper to effectively communicate important school-related news to the student body and faculty.
Robotics- Mrs. Swepston
The LEGO Robotics League is a global program created to get kids excited about science and technology. The League utilizes theme-based challenges to engage kids in research, problem solving, and engineering. The cornerstones of the program are its core values, which emphasize contributions of others, friendly sportsmanship, learning, and community involvement.
Scrabble-Ms.Banks
Scrabble is a word game in which two to four players score points by forming words from individual lettered tiles on a game board marked with a 15-by-15 grid. The words are formed across and down in crossword fashion and must appear in a standard dictionary. This club is going to rock!!!
SGA- Ms Poynton
The Student Government Association provides leadership in the areas of service, student conduct and social events. The SGA serves as a liaison with teachers and administrators on issues of importance to the student body.
United Nations Club- Mr. Burton
Model United Nations is an academic simulation of the United Nations that aims to educate students about civics, current events, effective communication, globalization and multilateral diplomacy. In Model UN, students take on roles as diplomats and participate in a simulated session of an intergovernmental organization.
Yearbook Club- Ms. Banks
The yearbook club is tasked to create a piece of history for Annapolis Middle School. Students will plan the content of the yearbook, develop a theme, and promote sales.
