Counselor's
Corner It
is the goal of our Guidance Department to
promote and facilitate academic success, career awareness and personal/ social
development for all students. This
is accomplished through individual meetings, small group counseling, and
classroom guidance lessons. I also work with parents, teachers, and
administration when developing programs to meet the needs of every student. The
objectives of the elementary guidance program are to assist students in
developing: Ø
Academic
and study skills, such as: listening and paying attention, organization,
relaxation techniques, and test-taking strategies.
Ø
An
awareness of the world of work and how it relates to school.
Ø
Social
Skills, such as: effective communication, conflict-resolution, and manners.
Ø Personal Skills, such as positive self-concept, successful coping behaviors, and decision-making.
