| The Waugh Chapel Elementary School, opened in November 1967, on the grounds of what was once part of the Hammonds Plantation. From September to November 1967, Waugh Chapel Elementary actually operated at Odenton Elementary School. Even though Waugh Chapel was under the roof and foster parentage of the Odenton school, the two schools functioned independently of each other. Finally, on November 1, 1967, the new building opened its doors and Waugh Chapel was opened.
