PRE-K AND KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION

When registering a child for prekindergarten and kindergarten, parents must bring the following:
- Child’s original birth certificate or birth record
- Copy of child’s immunization record
- Required Proof of Residency: Lease, Mortgage or rental agreement
- A 2nd proof of residency (a current utility bill)
- A Social Security card is requested but not required
THE MARYLAND STATE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION's ENTRANCE DATE FOR PREKINDERGARTEN, KINDERGARTEN, AND FIRST GRADE
A child who will be 5 years old or older on September 1 of a school year is age-eligible for enrollment in a kindergarten program. The admissions policy of a school must be consistent with this kindergarten age-of-eligibility requirement.
Anne Arundel County follows state regulations for age of entry and does consider early admission to kindergarten. Early admission to first grade is an option during the year in which students are eligible for kindergarten.
