Welcome to Oak Hill
Elementary School where “learning is our #1 priority!” Our competent staff,
supportive parents and high achieving students are all committed to maintaining
Oak Hill Elementary as a safe, nurturing environment to learn, to working
collaboratively to reach our academic goals and to building a strong home/school
relationship.
RESPECT is our theme for this year. Students and staff are expected to show
respect for ourselves, others, learning and school property everyday. We will
continue to provide a welcoming school environment and maintain effective
communication with our community.
Based on Anne Arundel County Public Schools goals and our student achievement
data, our School Improvement Plan will focus on the following academic goals
during the 2005-2006 school year:
Reading: 2005- 2006 Oak Hill SIT Plan
Language Arts Subcommittee
Goal: By 2007, 85% of all students will reach proficiency in Reading. The achievement of groups based on race, gender, and socio-economic status will vary no more than 10 percentage points from the highest group.
Objective: 80% of all grade 3 students will perform at proficient or better on the MSA in Reading.
85% of all grade 4 students will perform at proficient or better on the MSA in Reading.
85% of all grade 5 students will perform at proficient or better on the MSA in Reading.
Milestone(s):
| Oral Fluency (grades 2-5) – 85% of students will be fluent (50th percentile) in the spring. | |
| Reading Levels (grades 1 – 5) – 85% of students will be reading at or above grade level in the spring. | |
| DIBELS (grades K & 1) – 80% of kindergarten students will score 35 or more on Phoneme Segmentation Fluency (PSF) subtest in the spring. In first grade, 80% of students will read 40 or more words per minute in the spring on the Oral Reading Fluency (ORF) subtest. | |
| County Reading Assessments (grades 2 – 5) – 85% of students will score satisfactory or better on the Selected Response (SR) questions. | |
| Open Court Reading (OCR) Comprehension Assessment Units 7 & 8 (grade 1) – 85% of students will score satisfactory or better. | |
| Summary of Progress Reports (kindergarten) – 75% of students will be upper emergent readers or better on the spring report. |
Mathematics:

Math Subcommittee
Goal: By 2006-2007, 85% of all students will reach proficiency in Math. The achievement of groups based on race, gender, and socio-economic status will vary no more than 10 percentage points from the highest group.
Objective:

| Kindergarten Students- 85% or students are satisfactory (consistently demonstrating or developing in all reported math areas of the Spring Progress Repots.) The achievement of groups based on race, gender, and socio-economic status will vary no more than 10 percentage points from the highest group. | |
| Grade 1-5 Students – will score satisfactory of better on each math chapter test. The achievement of groups based on race, gender, and socio-economic status will vary no more than 10 percentage points from the highest group. |
