A FEW REMINDERS TO OUR

PARENTS FROM THE HEALTH STAFF

If your child will take medication during school hours the medication administration form must be filled out and signed by both the physician and the parents. A copy of this form was in the newsletter mailed to your home, or you can stop by any Anne Arundel County public school and get one (This is a requirement for all medications both prescription medicines (such as Ritalin or Proventil Inhaler) and over-the-counter medicines (like Tylenol or cough syrup). Additionally, prescription medicine should come to the school in a container which has been labeled by the pharmacist or physician with the correct name, the correct medication, and the correct dosage. All over-the-counter medication should come to the school in a sealed container. All medication should be brought to the school by an adult. Students are not allowed to carry medications except for two exceptions, self administered inhalers and Epi-Pens (and these require a medication administration form).

· If your child has a health problem which may impact his or her school day, please contact the school nurse at 410-544-0926 ext. 251.

· The Magothy River Middle School Health Room will be open during school days from 7:45 am to 2:45 pm. We look forward to a healthy and successful school year.
