A FEW REMINDERS TO OURPARENTS FROM THE HEALTH STAFF |
If your child will take medication during school hours the medication administration form must be filled out and signed by both the physician and the parents. A copy of this form was in the newsletter mailed to your home, or you can stop by any Anne Arundel County public school and get one (This is a requirement for all medications both prescription medicines (such as Ritalin or Proventil Inhaler) and over-the-counter medicines (like Tylenol or cough syrup). Additionally, prescription medicine should come to the school in a container which has been labeled by the pharmacist or physician with the correct name, the correct medication, and the correct dosage. All over-the-counter medication should come to the school in a sealed container. All medication should be brought to the school by an adult. Students are not allowed to carry medications except for two exceptions, self administered inhalers and Epi-Pens (and these require a medication administration form).
