The 2005-2006 school year will focus on student achievement and learning.  Walter S. Mills Parole Elementary has identified primary goals that will  increase student achievement in reading, writing and mathematics.

    Dr. Smith has provided the opportunities for these goals to be achieved by the new program implementation of Open Court Reading and Saxon Mathematics PreK-5.  The teachers and administrators have been staff developed on these programs and implementation began the first day of school.

    To ensure effective implementation, teachers will continually be trained throughout the school year.  This is a tremendous opportunity to learn new approaches and strategies to enhance our efforts to increase student and adult learning.  Your continued support and commitment is needed as we must do what is best for all the students to achieve success and realize their future goals and dreams are attainable.
