In 1999, Crofton Woods was recognized as having an outstanding parent volunteer program in Anne Arundel County. This award was presented by the Anne Arundel County Board of Education and recognizes the contributions of over 350 parent volunteers who have contributed 9,000 volunteer hours of work to our school.

Some of our parent initiatives are:

• Meet the Artists Night - Students present their artistic creations in a variety of media, including the performing arts.
• Meet the Scientists Night - Students present demonstrations or research of various scientific phenomena.
• Destination Imagination
• The Publishing Palace
• Young Authors Night - Students present their literary creations.
