SENIORS:  The Local Scholarship Packet has been distributed.  If you have not yet printed out your copy, please visit Naviance to do so.  You will find the scholarship packet listed under Documents. 

 

SENIORS:  Please let the Counseling Office know what colleges you get accepted to whether you plan to attend that specific college or not.  Stop in the Counseling Office to let Mrs. Wilson know or you can email her at lrwilson@aacps.org

 

Parents of SOPHOMORES and JUNIORS:  The counseling office is hosting a college evening on March 25th at 6:30 to discuss the college exploration process and admission process.  Topics include what students should be looking for in a college and what colleges are looking for in students.

SAT prep course: A PSAT/SAT prep course is being hosted by Martha Gagnon on April 19, 21, 26, 28 from 7-9:15 pm at Chesapeake High. Visit www.marthagagnon.com to learn more about the course and to register.

 

* Attention Senior Parents * Please let your child's counselor know if he or she is offered ANY scholarship money; EVEN IF YOUR CHILD DOESN'T ACCEPT THE OFFER. Each year, all high schools are asked by the Board of Education to keep track of and report the amount of scholarship money our students are offered. Thank you in advance for your cooperation in this endeavor. You may send this information via email to cshiflett@aacps.org using a format similar to this:

SAT Practice Test: A practice SAT is being offered on April 9th from 12:30-3:00 at the Mountain Road Library. This event is being sponsored by the PTSA and Sylvan Learning.

  1.  Complete and send applications to prospective colleges.
  2. Request teacher recommendations.  Teacher Recomendation Form
  3. Request transcripts and recommendations from your counselor.  Follow the checklist to send your transcripts to the college.
