SCHOOL INFORMATION
Opening its doors in September, 1974, the Center of Applied Technology North has since developed and maintained a reputation as one of the finest career and technology centers in Maryland and in the nation. Located in Severn on fifty-three acres, the school services seven local high schools and one alternative high school. (Arundel, Chesapeake, Glen Burnie, Meade, North County, Northeast, Old Mill, and Mary Moss Academy)

The school serves students in grades 9 through 12 and employees of business and industry through the adult education program, and individual adults in the day programs on a space available basis. A number of recuiting efforts are undertaken annually, including summer camp, 7th grade tours, open house/ career fairs, parent meetings, and the CAT Career Exploration program. With a few exceptions, most of the students enrolling in a "completer" program will enroll in the 10th grade and attend classes in grades 10, 11, and 12. Work experience and internship options are made available to students in the 12th grade.

CAT-North offers all of its programs in a competency based format. All students are required to participate in an employablility skills program, including completion of a resume as well as participation in a school based interview. Evening programs are sponsored by Anne Arundel Community College and include: apprenticeship training, adult education, and GED testing.
